COMPLIANCE & STANDARDS

Certified quality in a compliance-driven market

Cathay Seal's certifications are prerequisites for participation in the high-security seal market. They represent a genuine barrier to entry and a foundation of client confidence.

HIGH-SECURITY SEALS

ISO 17712:2013

International standard for mechanical seals used on freight containers. Defines testing and classification for high-security, security and indicative seals. Our bolt seals exceed all ISO 17712 requirements for tensile strength, shear resistance and bending resistance.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

ISO 9001

Quality management system certification covering design, manufacture and distribution of security seals. Required by major container shipping lines as a condition of supply. All three manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 certified.

ENVIRONMENTAL

ISO 14001

Environmental management system certification demonstrating our commitment to responsible manufacturing processes, waste reduction and environmental compliance across all production facilities.

US CUSTOMS

C-TPAT Compliant

The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism is a voluntary US Customs and Border Protection programme that strengthens supply chain security. Our products meet the seal requirements specified under C-TPAT security criteria.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD

ASTM F1157

Standard specification for security seal performance published by ASTM International. Covers pull strength, cut resistance and tamper-indication effectiveness. Cathay Seal products exceed all ASTM F1157 test requirements.

Why it matters

Certifications as a barrier to entry

ISO 17712, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications are not easily or quickly obtained. They require documented quality management systems, regular third-party audits and ongoing compliance. For our clients, this means confidence that every seal they deploy meets internationally recognised standards. For the market, it means a genuine barrier to entry that protects the integrity of the supply chain.
